A Memorable Event
Week One
This little segment was taken directly from my Field Blog: "The one girl who was really shy around me turned around because her helmet was broken and she couldn't go skating because of it. So I decided to run back to the school and get her a new helmet then run back so she could go skating for a little bit. After that she wasn't as shy to me. She even walked with me on the way back from the rink to talk with me."
Reflection
Looking back at this event I realized that it wasn't a big deal. The school was only three blocks away from the rink. I just did what I thought was right in that situation. However, this had a huge impact on that little girl whose name is Jordyn and this helped shape her feelings toward me. It was amazing to see this shy girl open up to me and talk to me every week after this. As teachers, understanding the things we do can have a huge impact on the children is important. It is important that we don't take that responsibility for granted.
